51画鋼 Awarded $25,000 PATH Grant
Posted on November 5, 2021

The 51画鋼 was selected as a 2021 Progress, Accomplishment, Thriving, Hope (PATH) Scholarship recipient through the Ellucian Foundation, a technology solutions company for higher education. The PATH Scholarship program provides grants to higher education institutions to support students facing economic hardship.
51画鋼 received $25,000, the largest amount available, which will be distributed to students in financial need to help cover unexpected costs or simply help with such items such as food, housing or even gas.
Brooke Moore, director of student financial success and support services, and her team applied for the grant through the 51画鋼 CARES program, which helps keep students enrolled.
The 51画鋼 CARES emergency fund was designed to support students when unexpected financial challenges arise, Moore said. Sometimes, the only thing standing between a student completing their semester and falling out is an expense as small as several hundred dollars.
Through a combination of donor and institutional support, the 51画鋼 CARES emergency fund has supported students unexpected needs with more than $298,000 since launching in January 2020.
Other grant programs provide students with tuition awards, no-interest loans and even technology support, but the PATH program provides just-in-time flexible support when students need it most.
The message here is that a students academic success should be a result of their hard work and not the unpredictability of life, Moore said.
